Last week, the Foundation Stage children found out lots about the job of a Civil Engineer.
They enjoyed reading about the Three Little Pigs and tested different materials to make a strong, sturdy house to keep the pigs safe from the Big Bad Wolf!
Some of the children put on a hard hat and hi-vis jacket to carry out surveys around the classroom and outdoor area.
Thank you, Alyx! The children thoroughly enjoyed it.

Year 5&6 have recently had a visit to Tullie House and the Cumbria Musuem of Military Life in Carlisle Castle to enhance their learning about WW2. The children experienced being evacuees for the morning at Tullie House, riding in an old-fashioned railway carriage and looking at what they would have taken with them in their suitcase as an evacuee. They also looked at what life was like for the children who stayed with their families during the war and got to handle some real artefacts from WW2. In the afternoon, children learnt about what life was like as a soldier in WW2 at the museum of military life. They got to try on a soldier's uniform, experience the weight of the rifles and grenades that the soldier's had to carry and explored the museum's exhibits. Thank you to Tullie House and Cumbria's Museum of Military Life for a fantastic day, and thank you to Community Rail for provided free rail travel for our trip!
